Justinian in Judges

Nominate judges for the Frank Vincent Index ... The former Victorian appeals judge says there are four categories into which all judges fit ... Who fits where? ... Fire away

Frank Vincent, formerly of VicAppeals, recently conveniently defined four categories into which all judges variously fit.

They are:

  1. Good-hearted but not very bright individuals who were unlikely to do anything terribly wrong;
  2. Good-hearted people of good personality who were bright and made good judges;
  3. Nasty individuals who were not very bright, but could be handled most of the time through the appeal process; and
  4. Those who were temperamentally unsuited but very smart - a serious problem for any legal system.

A subscriber has thoughtfully come up with the idea that there should be a MyJudge website so that citizens can see into which category judges fit.

Justinian has leapt at the opportunity to assist this project.

We're asking our readers to nominate judges into the various Vincent categories. The nominations can be made through the comment box below - either on or off the record.

We look forward to your responses.
